Tobias Wessling, born in 1986, is a landscape photographer based in Cologne. His photographs are expressions of his inner world – a quiet search for harmony reflected in the balance and beauty of nature. With a fine sensitivity for form, aesthetics, and contrast, he transforms visual chaos into ordered compositions, where content deliberately steps back in favor of formal clarity.
He works exclusively with analogue black-and-white film. His camera of choice: a Hasselblad medium format – the ideal tool for his reduced, essence-driven visual language. The square format and the distinctive character of film lend his work a timeless depth and perfectly support his passion for long exposures. The result is meditative, contemplative imagery in which light and time merge in a poetic way.
